Learn2Live (L2L) Youth Group:
NToS runs a weekly youth group named L2L (Learn2Live). Prior to COVID, our group had around 80 people who were UASC (unaccompanied asylum-seeking children) registered with a weekly attendance of between 15-30 young people. The group offers a safe space for people to build and feel a sense of community, meet other people with similar lived experiences and practise conversational English in a comfortable environment. At these sessions, we would offer games including foosball, pool, tennis, interactive games and a hot meal provided by our volunteers. We also have a group work session based on life skills, educational advancements, or emotional well-being.
English Classes for Refugee Women:
Our organisation employs volunteers who are trained and knowledgeable in teaching the English language to speakers of other languages. We currently offer this provision to refugee women, and plan to expand our resources once we gather more support. NToS aims to empower these women’s confidence in literacy and adjustment to their new environment.
Immigration Asylum Advice Sessions:
In partnership with the British Red Cross, NToS provides monthly Level 1 Immigration/Asylum Advice for service users with regard to their statuses and legal issues. The charity runs this on a regular monthly basis, but appointments can be booked for more specific and one-on-one meetings and cases.
